We believe good design restores balance by strengthening our relationship with the natural world.

We believe thoughtful design can gently restore that balance. Not by asking people to escape modern life, but by helping them reconnect with the natural world through the objects they live with every day.

As ACAYA grows, our ambition is not simply to design beautiful products, but to build a body of work that continues to explore the relationship between nature, material, ritual, and intentional living.

Our Creator

Born and raised in South Africa, our founder Gabriella Widgerow has always felt a deep connection to the natural world — and, thanks to her architect grandfather, an equally deep appreciation for spatial form.

She moved with her family to the US in 2010 and has spent the past decade building a career in visual design, alongside explorations in interior and landscape design.

ACAYA was born from a longing to return to tactile, hands-on making — to simply create beautiful things for beautiful spaces. The name draws from the iconic Acacia trees of the African savanna, and from a belief that nature isn't just an aesthetic. It's a teacher.

Gabi looks to the natural world for lessons in materiality, longevity, simplicity, texture, and balance — principles that inform every piece she creates.
