Built by hand in layers of mineral texture, this sculptural work brings together two pale, stone-like planes separated by a recessed gunmetal passage. The geometric opening interrupts the otherwise minimal surface, creating a strong relationship between solid and void, structure and negative space.

Subtle variation across the plaster softens the precision of the composition, while the metallic gunmetal beneath shifts with the light—from deep graphite to a muted mineral sheen. The contrast emphasizes the depth of the recessed plane and the dimensionality of the raised forms.

Each piece is individually formed and finished by hand, allowing variations in texture, edges, surface markings, and metallic finish to remain part of the work rather than being concealed.
