Built by hand in layers of mineral texture, this sculptural work stacks two raised plaster planes, one pale and one warm taupe, around a recessed band of aged gold and bronze. The band shows only as a narrow reveal, so it reads like a seam of metal held between two masses of stone.

Subtle tonal variation and visible hand-work give the plaster its character. The upper plane is bright and finely scored, while the lower is softer, warmer, and more mottled. The layered gold and bronze shifts from deep brown to a warmer glow as light crosses it, and the raised planes cast their own shadow lines.

Each piece is individually formed and finished by hand, allowing variations in texture, edges, surface markings, and metallic patina to remain part of the work rather than being concealed. Built on a lightweight wood panel base with applied foam-core, ready to hang.
