KR 04 - HEARTH

Built by hand in layers of mineral texture, this sculptural work centers a single raised bronze plane on a soft cream plaster border, with a narrow vertical opening cut through its center. The recess reveals a deep oxblood-red passage beneath, worn and textured, like an ember held within the metal.

The bronze plane shifts from warm gold to deeper amber as light crosses its hand-worked surface, while the recessed red core holds a rougher, more matte texture — a quiet contrast between polished metal and raw material at the piece's center.

Each piece is individually formed and finished by hand, allowing variations in texture, edges, surface markings, and metallic patina to remain part of the work rather than being concealed. Built on a lightweight wood panel base with applied foam-core, ready to hang.
