TS 04 - MIST

Built by hand in layers of mineral texture, this sculptural work explores the meeting of two contrasting planes. A carved, hand-etched cream field gives way along a sweeping curve to a smooth charcoal-slate plane, the boundary between them tracing an organic line rather than a hard architectural edge.

Near its base, a recessed rectangular void interrupts the dark plane, opening onto a smaller textured panel finished in a pale, granular surface — a quiet second reveal nested within the larger composition. Light moves differently across each surface: catching in the etched marks of the plaster, then settling flat and matte across the slate.

Each piece is individually formed and finished by hand, allowing variations in texture, edges, surface markings, and material patina to remain part of the work rather than being concealed. Built on a lightweight wood panel base with applied foam-core, ready to hang.

Handmade original artwork by ACAYA Studio.
